Very “Slice” to meet you fellow pizza lovers…

Pizza Pilgrims, Canary Wharf

Good morning angels, it’s a brisk yet sunny day in London town this morning… and i am starving! Theres only one solution- Pizza!!!

If you walk along through Canary Wharf towards the water front (near Kerb on the Quay) you will find the wonderful Pizza Pilgrims. Nestled amongst bars and street food, but not hard to miss given that bright green exterior!

Step on through and you’ll find a nice courtyard with heaters for those that don’t mind braving the cold… this would be perfect in summer time! We opted for sitting inside, it was something like 2 degrees that day!

On to the interiors, it’s cute… lots of fun art work everywhere and it’s lunch time yet they manage to serve us quickly and efficiently!

But what to order all of the pizza’s sound super scrummy! Each has a sourdough base… mmmm!!! Some places just don’t get sourdough right- but pizza pilgrims was spot on!!

I opt for the Portobello and Truffle (with a little chilli), my friend went for the Salsiccia and Friarelli. Both pizzas arrived promptly and were very reasonably priced…

Both are delicious, they have that beautifully baked sourdough crust… which overflows on the plate! Oozing with cheesy goodness… mine had that glorious truffle decadence and my friends was spicy and meaty… both left very happy! The pizzas definitely had that Franco-Manca vibe- but they clearly spend time here slow proving that sourdough in that Neapolitan style so many of us love!

Overall there was speedy service, delicious pizza and reasonably priced food. I’d say that was a lunch-ly triumph and i would definitely go back again… it’s hard to find delicious, authentic pizza in the Wharf- but i think your prayers have been answered…

Fear not if the Wharf is nowhere near you there are branches all over London; Carnaby Street, Covent Garden, Soho, Shoreditch, London Bridge, London City and Exmouth Market etc… the locations go on…
