Daphne’s- Italian goodness on a plate!

Daphne’s, South Kensington

Italian food you say?! Burrata you say?! I’m in!

Good morning beautiful people, hope everyone is having a great day. I have a short and simple post for you today- reviewing the superb Daphne’s in South Ken.

I went to see some friends last week and saw the show Ovo (cirque de soliel esq- short clip inserted below- how flexible are these actors?!) a few drinks throughout the performance and a few hours later we were ravenous! One quick call and a reservation was made so we taxied over to Daphne’s.

This truly is the sweetest little restaurant (a lovely menu, fun staff, decent sized tables too). We were here a good few hours until closing but the staff were just fabulous with cocktail and food recommendations.

For those of you that don’t know Daphne’s falls in the same family chain as the Ivy and it’s no wonder it’s so popular with the Chelsea set. As with the Ivy chains you can expect good quality food, knowledgeable sommeliers and a really fun evening. Perfect for couples, friends or family. I will definitely be back again soon.

Cocktails ordered (aperol spritz, lychee martinis and wine)….the ordering of the food can commence!

You see my glass is circled next to the Black truffle gnocchi 😍😍 i want this right now!

But first some sharers for the table, we opt for our favourite burrata, prawn and avocado salad, tuna sashimi and of course the infamous zucchini frites (incredibly moorish and just delightful to eat- they are after all vegetable based- no guilt here)… oh and the bread basket has an assortment of wonderfulness freshly baked and served warm! Yummy!

We sit for a few hours and enjoy our feast but then in no time at all the mains arrive (I’ve opted for fillet steak, but a few others went for the black truffle gnocchi- which you can order in large or small and tuna steaks) all served with more zucchini frites and some wonderful wilted spinach.

All of the food was scrumptious, there were no empty plates all around the table. Options for vegan and vegetarian or the gluten free foodies a-plenty. I’m a lover of all food and sampled everything on the table. It was all superb. Easy, simple and tasty italian cuisine.

Definitely one to try if you’re next in South Ken or as a post show venue! The prices were reasonable too and the staff truly do know the menu and are on hand with a list of assorted drinks to recommend too.

Lovely evening, leaving sated and pleasantly full- thankyou Daphne’s for your lovely service and delicious cuisine!

Hope you enjoyed this post- until next time xoxo
