Aubaine- can you really say you’ve been here without posing at the wall of flowers- just stunning?!

Aubaine, Selfridges

Morning my angels, so this morning i was up bright and early for a spot of brunch with a good friend of mine! It was a very early start but we head over to Aubaine in selfridges! If like me you love a good selfie (or ten) this should definitely make it on to your list!

Service is good here, we arrived and were seated straight away. Perusing the menu and there are soooo many amazing options (insert menu here)…but my eyes are drawn to the drinks menu, it’s early and i need me some caffeine!

A must for a good brunch is a good coffee, and i’m quite picky normally but the cappuccino here was delicious! Just the right hit of coffee but smooth and luxurious. We’re off to a great start.

On to the mains… there were so many amazing options but we opt for eggs royale, eggs benedict…and some french toast to share “for the table” (its brunch so technically two meals are ok right?! and were sharing…)

The eggs royale was delicious, not many places can get a good hollandaise sauce just right but aubaine managed it superbly! Normally i like my hollandaise on the side, but there was just the right amount (my eggs were not swimming in sauce which is good). My friends eggs benedict was also cooked well, beautifully runny yellow yolks and a well flavoured hollandaise and bacon!

Mains devoured start to think about something sweet… there were so many options, pastries, bread baskets, pancakes, cakes and other sweet treats (it really was tough to choose)

As some of you will know i am not the biggest fan of sweets- but we opted for some french toast as a compromise- our “sharing” plate so to speak…a HUGE mountain of french toast arrives, served with lashings of syrup, caramelised banana, blueberries and strawberries and a side of cream- something for everyone on this plate!

The french toast were truly scrumptious! I needn’t say anything else, light fluffy, crunchy and sweet. As you bite through the doughy goodness you taste the caramelised sauce, add in the sharpness of the blueberries and you are truly in business! I opted for a secondary pot of tea with my sweet goodies and it was delicious!

All in all Aubaine was a hit, you are not rushed and it’s just a lovely quiet space hidden on the second floor of a VERY busy Selfridges and the prices are very reasonable!

With brunch done it’s time for a stroll and shopping session- i will post some of my purchases on my instagram stories so you can peruse but for now i’m off to shop.
