The Shard, Hutong
Hi my angels, welcome back to my blog. I am here with you today to provide a review of the wonderful Hutong restaurant at the Shard. For my city workers, there is now an abundance of superb restaurants here in the City and the list just keeps on growing. Hutong at the Shard is no exception, located right by London Bridge Station, easily accessible across London via Train or Tube or a short walk from the City.
I booked Hutong as a birthday treat for one of my very good friends, a quick word with the waiter and we were seated at a wonderful table overlooking the London skyline. The Shard, is such a lovely venue. Surrounded by glass, with breathtakingly stunning views over our beautiful city of London. Something I know I take for granted, as I walk by every day, but over dinner on a Friday evening this really does remind me how lucky I am to live so close to such a great landmark.
From the moment we walked in, staff were wonderfully pleasant, we were seated quickly and one of the waiters talked us through the never ending menu. As I perused the menu, I was reminded of my recent trip to China and all of the wonderful the Northern Chinese delicacies.
We opted for crispy prawn rolls to start, scallop and prawn wontons with hot and spicy sauce (yaaas!), Sichaun style deep fried lobster- what a treat this was- my favourite! Sauteed tiger prawns, monkfish with hot and sour sauce and finally the beef tenderloin. OK so in hindsight we over ordered slightly but the food here was just delicious. The crispy prawn roll was as you expect, the sichaun lobster flavoursome and light and finally the beef tenderloin full of flavour and quite heavy. A lot of these dishes did not make it to pictures- sorry guys! We were just so hungry and the food was just so delicious we couldn’t stop ourselves.
We ended the meal with lovely birthday mango dessert- compliments of the kitchen. What a great evening at Hutong. The food was delicious, the seafood so fresh and so well flavoured, the dessert light and fragrant. Even our jasmine tea- elegant and light. Price wise, it is on the higher end of the scale, definitely somewhere to take someone on a special occasion. Its not one to be missed- just look at those views!

That’s all for now hope you enjoyed this post xoxo
