Ivy Chelsea Garden, Kings Road
Hi my angels, so it was another lovely sunny day in London and my very good friend’s birthday, we decided to go with the Ivy Chelsea Gardens and were not disappointed, everything about this place was lovely. Easy to locate (though a brisk walk 10-15 from Sloane Square- not ideal in heels but we powered on), great food, enormous portions, good quality ingredients, very filling and topped off by a wonderful bustling atmosphere.

Simple, Classic British food at its finest!
As you walk in you are greeted by a long bar- similar to that of something from a 1950s movie- charming and inviting. We had a few drinks by the bar to soak in the atmosphere- martinis and peach Bellini’s and a side of the arancini to nibble on, whilst we waited for our full group to arrive.

Martini- shaken not stirred!
The Ivy Chelsea Garden has a wonderful outdoor space- which is ideal for those lovely summer’s evening. It also has good capacity inside for patrons and in the event our wonderful English weather takes a turn for the worst, you can head inside for cover!
On to starters and zucchini frites! We opted for two bowls for four of us- this was plenty- and could quite easily have fed two more. Light, tasty and Moorish, not what I was expecting. We then ordered the tuna sashimi- this was delicately flavoured, soft and tender, melted in the mouth- wonderful. My friends ordered the scallops followed by the burrata, this was soft creamy and delicious. We may have gone a little overboard with starters, but everything just looked so lovely.
- Zucchini Frites-a-plenty- the sauce with this is amazing!
- Melt in the mouth tuna sashimi
- British classic- pan seared scallops
- Creamy, smooth burrata
For mains, I opted for the Chicken Milanese, coated in lovely fresh bruschetta chunks and topped with a friend hen egg with truffle shavings- decadent and delicious. I teamed this with truffle chunky chips and stemmed broccoli. I was so full at this point, sadly I did not get to finish my meal but it was delicious. My friends ordered fillet steak, the burger and steak tartare- everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Topped off with ice cool ruinart champagne- delicious.
I have to say the staff here were fantastic, very attentive, great with recommendations and efficient in serving. We went along on a Friday evening and whilst it was busy inside, we were not rushed once! This would be a great location for birthdays, dates and catch ups with friends.
All in all, everything about Ivy Chelsea Garden could not be faulted. For saying we were there a few hours on a Friday evening (one of the busier evenings) we were not rushed, we enjoyed our meal, had a great catch up and a lovely birthday evening for my friend. Price wise per person was not bad too- definitely more affordable than you would think!
Sadly we were so full we couldn’t handle the dessert menu- we are going back to the City venue in a few weeks- Ivy City Garden let’s see if you can live up to the Ivy Chelsea Gardens reputation.
